If a patient doesn't need to be hospitalized or if they don't qualify for home health services, yet they require daily treatment, what do you do? One option to consider is Hays Medical Center's Special Nursing Service. This service offers treatment from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
Services offered include:
Blood transfusions
IGG therapy Remicade IV
PICC removal and flushes
Lab draws
Antibiotic therapy
Dressing changes
Chemotherapy.
The Special Nursing Service is located in Room 206 at Hays Medical Center. The service is staffed by three Registered Nurses, who have over 40 years of nurisng experience combined.
Services are provided on a physician referral basis, by appointment only. The referring physician, or a staff member from their office, will need to call Special Nursing Services and schedule an appointment for the patient. The patient should come to the registration desk at the hospital to check in prior to their scheduled appointment. The registration staff will bring the patient to the treatment area and treatment will be provided.
