Provided by the American Cancer Society the toll free number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patients also have the opportunity to talk with nurses who specialize in cancer treatment.

Cancer Resource Room
Located at the Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute this room has a wide variety of information, including books, pamphlets and materials from the American Cancer Society to assist patients and families. The room is also equipped with a computer and internet connection to pertinent cancer websites. The staff at Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute can direct you to the Resource Library.
Cancer Support Group
Informative meetings to offer support, exchange of information in a caring environment. Lead by a licensed master social worker, the group meets twice a month on Thursday. The informal educational portion is designed to aid in your coping and recovery process. Ask your caregiver at the Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute for details. Hospice - Pallative Care - Lifeline
Hospice is a special kind of care for the terminally ill and their families. Hospice exists to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of an incurable disease so they might live comfortably and fully in accordance with their own values and beliefs. HMC Hospice & Palliative Care is Medicare Certified and Licensed and provides services in Rooks and Ellis counties.
Palliative Care focuses on improving the quality of life of patients and their families who are facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness. Palliative Care addresses pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs using an interdisciplinary team approach.
Lifeline is a personal response system that provides clients and their families the security of being able to access help by pushing a button on a pendant or wristband.

Look Good/Feel Better
A special session that assists women undergoing cancer treatment learn to cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatments and regain a sense of control over their lives. Pastoral Care
The Pastoral Care Service strives to be a channel of peace, offering peace and the healing power of God to patients, their families and hospital associates. This is done mainly through direct patient visits, the sharing of sacraments and the offering of prayer and spiritual counsel. If the patient desires, Pastoral Care will contact his or her parish, congregation or clergy person. Finally, Pastoral Care works as an integral part of the health care team to provide quality patient care.
