There’s no longer any reason to live with an open sore.  The Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center offers expanded wound treatment for difficult, complicated or atypical wounds.  Likely candidates for treatment at the center are those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infection, compromised skin grafts and flaps and wounds that haven’t healed within 30 days.

In the United States, chronic wounds affect 6.5 million patients. At HaysMed Wound Healing Center we treat these wounds and work to prevent reoccurrence by correcting contributing factors such as controlling infection and enhancing medical and nutritional status.

A multidisciplinary approach

The Wound Healing Center is staffed with a unique team of specialists all dedicated to healing chronic wounds.  The combined knowledge of our team members creates a multidisciplinary approach to wound management.  We are dedicated to healing wounds that have not responded to traditional treatment.

Alaina Dresslar has given me wonderful care and treatment, really all in the wound center have given me such great care.

Excellent care. Very nice staff.

The wound center has done a fantastic job at healing my deep wound. Special nursing has also done a great job at keeping the wound healing. They have been great at making schedule changes so I could attend various events. You have a great compassionate staff. I really appreciate them.

I have been seeing the wound center staff to attend to leg wounds. On a weekly basis, they have excelled in personal care, professionally seen to my every need. They are always on time, efficient, and very sociable. In particular, Audrey, Jennifer, Michelle, Leslie and the rest of the nursing staff should be complimented. They work very well as a team and I always have the same team so they know what has transcended and how things are going. Also, Rick and Dr. Albrecht are very competent at what they do.

The staff is very caring and takes the time to answer all my questions. Thank you for your help.

Pleased with wound care supplied to me, very kind and friendly at keeping me well. I am not the easiest patient but they knew how to handle situations and I am grateful for their service.

Everybody was real nice and professional!

We absolutely enjoy working with Jeff in wound care. He has worked with my husband since 2015. He is top notch in our books!! All the staff in Wound Care is easy to work with and they do wonderful work with true care. The wound care facility deserves recognition!

We are pleased with the care we have been given during our visits. When we have called they have answered our questions right away. Thank you for the good care.

I have just started going to the wound care clinic. This is my second visit. Every time I enter the DeBakey entrance the gentleman at the desk always greets me. All the ladies that I have met in the clinic are upbeat and fun to have conversations with. They answer all my questions and give directions as needed and clarify them when I need them to. I wish I could write all their names but I don’t remember them. Thanks for all you do and all the improvements to the hospital itself.

Everything was great.

Staff was friendly and very informative!

The staff is so amazing and wonderful here! We never have to wait to be seen and everyone is so kind. I greatly appreciate that all staff take the time to answer any questions and they always make sure I understand what is going on. Audrey and Leslie are so incredible we just love them! October 2017

We continue to be very impressed and pleased with the care I have received at the Wound Care Clinic. The entire staff there are very dedicated professionals. Staff was excellent in treating my condition. The service is exceptional in all ways.

I would recommend this clinic to anyone that would ask me. I appreciate the care I’ve received. The entire staff is very accommodating and caring. I do not feel like a patient. I feel like a friend. Thank you.

I have been completely satisfied with the care I have received at the Hays Medical Center Wound Care Department. I could not possibly single out just one person, everyone I have encountered has been willing to go above and beyond what I would have expected. They have all been compassionate and caring. Always concerned about my ability to put their patient at ease.

The service I received from the wound team was excellent. Every questions I had for them was answered promptly, even between visits. The staff was very friendly and personable.
